TIPS ON BRUSHING AND CLEANING YOUR LASHES (AND WHY IT’S IMPORTANT)

Updated: May 15, 2021

As lash artist, we are often asked how to care for eyelash extensions. The good news is, when you have eyelash extensions, the overall upkeep is very minimal and very easy to manage if you clean and brush them regularly. Follow these eyelash extension care tips (plus visit our salon for infill appointments every 3-4 weeks) and your lashes will stay looking full and fabulous!

#1 KEEP YOUR EYELASHES CLEAN

We’ll start with the basics of eyelash extension care: Keep that fluffy lash line squeaky clean! When you clean your lashes regularly, you are helping to keep your natural oils at bay. Cleansing regularly also helps prevent premature lash shedding. Cleanse your lashes daily with our cleanLASH pads which are designed to gently melt away & remove dirt, pollutants and any eye make-up including eyeliner ! It also conditions and restores moisture around your eye making your skin feel super nourished! These cotton pads have been saturated with pomegranate seed extract (our lash extensions are water and oil proof) to detangle and promote healthy lashes and helps to reduce flipping and tangling.

THE SCARY TRUTH: When you skip your daily lash wash, your lash follicles can get clogged with oil, dirt and debris, which can make it difficult for new lashes to grow.

Despite this, it’s not uncommon for lash stylists to see guests with severe build-up of makeup residue, oil and/or dead skin cells along their lash lines. This is not only unhygienic, but it can also cut into your appointment time because your stylist must make sure they’re squeaky clean before performing your infills.

#2 BRUSH YOUR EYELASHES DAILY

No one wants a messy lash line. To take care of your eyelash extensions, brush your lashes daily to prevent crisscrossing. A simple 15–20 second sweep through your lashes in the morning will put stray lashes in their place. Make sure you’re gentle when brushing your eyelash extensions, as you don’t want to tug at them if they are tangled or overlapping. And take a quick peek to make sure your lash wand is clean. We don’t want any clumpy mascara getting in the way of that smooth sweep!

BONUS! Brushing your lashes each day helps your extensions last longer.

Lots of love,

A xxx
